Hydrow is a great rower platform, but very different from ours. The main difference is that they focus on live instructor classes, whereas we focus on races, competitions, games and everything else! We have a wide array of content spanning from virtual tours, hundreds of guided workout programs, coached programs, streaming services (including Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, Paramount+, Disney+ and YouTube), Spotify, etc. But if you prefer only the boutique-style classes like those at spinning studios, you might enjoy the Hydrow more.
Here are some more differences between us:
Resistance: We use a dual air and magnetic system instead of an unrealistic feeling of digital resistance, and our resistance has 16 different levels and goes past 100lbs.
Storage: The Strong Series and StrongGo stand upright, and they both have wheels to easily maneuver them where you need them to be. Hydrow rowers require an upgrade storage kit at an additional cost.
Warranty: Our Standard Warranty on our structural frame is also double the length at 10 years, with the option to select a lifetime warranty at checkout.
Membership: Our membership is at a much lower cost, there is no commitment, you can cancel anytime, and our rower can be used without a membership!
Software Content: Hydrow only offers live instructor classes. With an Aviron membership, an unlimited number of users can gain access to our online community and expanding library of content, which includes: races, games, pros vs. joes, scenic destination rowing, YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, Paramount+, Spotify, and various workout programs that'll have you getting on and off the rower for a full-body workout, including 70+ workouts and programs by Training Tall. We update our content on a monthly basis right now, and you'll have full access to all software and content releases.
Comparison to Hydrow Wave and SSR:
The Hydrow Wave is a good rower, however, we have much more to offer, not only in terms of hardware, but software features as well!
Storage: The Hydrow Wave can be stored upright like the Strong Series, however you need to purchase an additional wall mount accessory for $190, whereas the SSR can be stored upright on its own
Weight and Height Limit: The weight limit on the Hydrow Wave is 375lbs with a height limit of 36" inseam vs. the Strong Series has a weight limit of 507lbs and height limit of 40" inseam
Touch Screen: Their screen is 16", whereas our interactive touchscreen is 22"
Seat Height: Hydrow Wave's seat is only 16" above the ground, whereas the Strong Series seat is 20" above the ground for comfortability while getting on and off the rower
The Strong Series has a phone holder attachment for convenience while working out, whereas the Hydrow Wave does not
Software:
Hydrow's memberships start at $44/month, whereas our memberships start at $29/month (or $24/month billed annually)
Hydrow focuses mainly on live classes with some on demand workouts vs. Aviron we have the widest in variety on the market: from our games, competitions, hundreds of guided workout programs (including full body and HIIT workouts), coached programs with Training Tall, scenic rows, streaming services (YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney+, Spotify), etc. to end boring workouts!
